Chose this campsite for my 3 year old son’s first camping experience. Stayed overnight non-electric pitch Saturday to Sunday. There are lots of sites in the area but we were not disappointed with Carsington Fields and would highly recommend this site. Spacious pitches on the top field, brilliant dog walk with bins and bags available, friendly pygmy goats, ducks and hens on the site. Very clean and tidy. Excellent toilets/showers. Very friendly and welcoming owners/staff. We cannot wait to return in a few weeks for another camping adventure!

A very pleasant site with attentive hosts that are always there to help with a smile. Family oriented with definite quiet time… Dog walk and poop bags to help if you’ve forgotten! Carsington water provides several water based opportunities if the walking and cycling around it doesn’t keep you busy enough!

Just getting ready to go up to this site for Easter. We are lucky enough to have secured a seasonal pitch on this little gem. Pete, Judy and their staff are so friendly they immediately make you feel welcome. Great base if you want to relax and explore the surrounding area if you are more energetic there is Carsington Water nearby and you can hire bikes and cycle round the reservoir and take in the breath-taking scenery or walk it just over 8 miles. Pitches are well placed facilities always immaculate and clean. Everyone always seems so happy on this site and stops for a chat and I`m sure that is down to the dedicated hard work of all staff involved.

Just returned home from yet another fabulous stay at Carsington Fields. Weather was beautiful (not expected as horrendous when we left home). Warm welcome as always and facilities are just great and very clean! I’m not the best camper and go to keep the ‘boys’ happy so this is a must for me! Hot shower in the morning and on an evening before lighting the BBQ and watching my little boy have the time of his life, feeling very independent as he runs around the fields with the other children unaware that I can also have peace of mind knowing he is very safe. In fact he insists this is the best holiday and camping site ever!!! Beautiful (yet hard) bike ride around 8 miles of the reservoir and nice to stop for refreshment at the ‘Miners Pub’. Beautiful campsite and fabulous people running it to perfection. Even I’m sad to be home back in the rain and miss my ‘gem’ of a site. See you soon and thank you! Love the ‘muppets’ that went home & came back again! x

We’ve just come back from a long weekend at Carsington Fields Caravan Park. It’s a great location and the site is very well maintained, clean and tidy. There were lots of thoughtful touches around the site, such as shower gel in the showers, dog bags and bins located in various spots, information shed with handy maps etc and a little shop for any essential you might have forgotten (and some nice cakes).
Judy and her team were fantastic, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our pitch was very private and was really peaceful. It was lovely to see the ducks and goats wandering around and they also had chickens and you could purchase their eggs. There is a lovely dog walking field which was nice when the sun was setting.
It was a nice walk to carsington reservoir where there always seems to be something going on. Also, the Knockerdown pub was great for a well earned pint and food midway on the long walk.
We will be returning to take our daughter soon.

We have had an amazing stay here, it’s so peaceful and very clean and tidy, the facilities are kept very well, our son was happy as there was an area to play football. Would highly recommend. We went paddle boarding on the lake on the Saturday ideal somewhere local to stay. We will be back thank you for having us.

A lovely family friendly site, our first time camping with our little boy and we have all had such a wonderful time. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and were happy to help if something was needed. Toilet and shower areas were spotless. Short walk to carsington waters which was a lovely day out. We can’t wait to come back!

I needed somewhere to stay local to Carsington Sailing Club with my caravan & young dog for 3 nights. After a bit of searching on the internet I narrowed it down to a choice of 2 sites next to each other. The first was the Caravan & Motor Home site (As I am not a member) the price was just not realistic. So I tried Carsington Fields site. I rang & explained my constraints. From the off they could not be more helpful, all my wishes were granted. A few days later when I arrived they welcomed me & my young dog with open arms, giving me a choice of pitch to suit my requirements. The site & facilities were immaculate! As with most sites I have stayed at, the dog walking facilities tend to be a narrow strip of land hidden away, not this site! it was a whole secure gated field where dogs are allowed off lead! Wow what can I say - Absolutely brilliant!! I could not find Anything even slightly negative about the site, facilities, location or staff. The owners & staff obviously take pride in the site & it shows. (I stayed an extra night purely because I didn't want to go). I definitely will be back when circumstances allow. WELL DONE!

One of the most beautiful camping site we ever been on.Extremely clean and looked after !Showers, toilets and fields are amazing !There is a SHOP on site as well! Very convenient if you run out of eggs for breaky:)Hosts are very friendly and helpful 😀Pitches are well big.Some things are there that I wouldn’t even thought this would be on any site. Very detailed ! ( i.e can crasher or bowl provided for washing up)Lake for paddle boarding just short walk or even shorter driver away !Very quiet and relaxing place ! ( even garden for meditation)We deffo will be coming back !Highly recommended

Beautiful caravan site and fabulous staff, we loved every minute of our stay, our pitch was next to the pond which was lovely with very very cute ducklings 🐥 right next to carsington water, and for information for places to eat the Black Horse and Knockerdown pub were excellent 😀 definitely will be returning 😀 😄

Lovely 3 night stay, perfect location, slight road noise from our pitch but although Judy ( owner) offered us a move we decided to stay put as we were out most of the day. The showers and toilets were spotless and the little extras provided were much appreciated. The hospitality we received was second to none namely Judy, who seems to go that extra mile to ensure she has happy campers. We will certainly return .

OMG. I can totally recommend this place! It’s peaceful, spotlessly clean and ticks every box. That’s before mentioning the warm welcome and endless kindness from Judy and her crew. The animals on site make it a truly idyllic campsite, unlike any we have been to before. Our family and friends loved it. We hope to return again soon.

We spent 5 nights at Carsington Fields. It's a really lovely site. The staff are lovely. Big shout out to Kate tho. Nice sized pitches and good facilities. We walked Carsington Water Reservoir which isn't far to walk to. Also drove into Matlock which is a lovely place to visit. Its such a shame that people don't take note of the rules tho. Our first pitch we had, I picked up at least half a dozen cigarette ends and considering all the ducks they have, I couldn't quite believe it. 'Put them in your bins smokers'. Also, and it did seem to be the seasonal pitch people. Keep your dogs on leads! As it says in the rules and on several posts on site. You're not an exception to the rules! I had to mention it to Kate as where we live a puppy pulled a gosling apart. I just can't believe people's ignorance at times.Anyway, it's a really lovely site and well worth the visit

We have had a wonderful few days away at Carsington Fields. We were warmly welcomed and had such a lovely time. It is ideally located so we found plenty to keep us entertained.The facilities were perfectly clean, the shop adequately stocked and the site nice and peaceful.We will definitely be visiting again in the not to distant future.
